I have now been coached by Jessica Hunsucker for a year now. She has taught me how to properly feed myself and I have never felt starved during this entire process. Yes it’s a process and it’s not something you understand or learn overnight. She had to retrain my thought process and taught me that food is fuel and not the enemy. Since starting with M2Performance I have hit countless PR’s and for the first time, I am finally happy with my body.

Flashback to 2017, a month after giving birth to my son, breastfeeding and working out again. I had started with a coach that all of my friends were using and seeing how much weight they were losing in a short amount of time really motivated me to contact her. Let’s start off by talking about what my “macros” were:

MACROS
Protein: 115g
Fat 50g
Carbs: 119g

Honestly, at first, I thought this was a lot of food. Before I got pregnant I barely ate carbs. Carbs were the “Devil” in my eyes and I lived off a salad. Before I was pregnant there were days I wouldn’t even hit 1,000 calories and weighed around 125-130lbs. Growing up I always thought less is more when it came to food. After a few weeks into this macro program, I realized that my body needed more food. I contacted the coach and told her I loved the weight dropping on the scale, and you know as all women we tend to get fixated on a number but I hated the way I felt plus I was starving. She instantly told me that it was normal to feel starved and I needed to drink more water. Let me tell you that I was drinking over 3 liters of water a day because my son drank the hell out of some breast milk. Months went by the scale dropped some then it stopped. I had started back working out 6X a week and still breastfeeding plus working in law enforcement. My macros basically stayed the same even with breastfeeding, increase in the exercise plus my daily job duties. Eating this amount of food left me starved, depressed and felt like a failure because I didn’t have the energy to workout plus my body was having a hard time keeping up with my hungry baby boy. I was irritable(now I know that I was just “HANGRY”) and I took all my frustration out on the ones that I loved. I stopped counting macros with this coach after a few months because my family, job and my sanity were more important.

Fast forward to today and I have now been coached by Jessica Hunsucker for a year now. She has taught me how to properly feed myself and I have never felt starved during this entire process. Yes, it’s a process and it’s not something you understand or learn overnight. She had to retrain my thought process and taught me that food is fuel and not the enemy. Since starting with M2Performance I have hit countless PR’s and for the first time, I am finally happy with my body. Body image issues and eating disorders were something I struggled with growing up which is why I reached out to M2 because I needed the guidance. It was the best thing I have ever done mentally and physically. Having Jessica as a coach as made my new relationship with food easier than I’ve ever expected. Working in law enforcement, being a full-time wife and mother isn’t easy but finding my why in my family makes it all worth it. I have learned that more food isn’t a bad thing and it doesn’t lead to weight gain. I am now 122lbs eating 300g of carbs and 145g of protein. Being able to fuel my body for my job and family is the utmost importance. Being physically and mentally fit prepares me for the hard days at work so I can go home to my family at night. Finding your why and doing what makes you happy is what I’ve learned more than anything. If you put your mind to it then it can get done. We have to stop starving ourselves and learn that it’s ok to have a cheat night because that’s what keeps us working towards our goals.

Before: 134lbs
After: 122lbs
