"This has been a great experience working with M2 Performance Nutrition. My coach Kassandra is great, supportive and firm at the same time. She shares lots of knowledge and I am learning a ton. I really did not know I could feel this great. I've been going to the CrossFit gym for 1 year and since working with Kassandra in past 3 months, I feel the best I have ever felt. I have more energy and have lost weight at the same time."
Background
At first Alex's career as a home inspector proved to be a challenge because he was always on the go and eating at fast food restaurants. We first worked on getting better choices at Starbucks and chipotle, then eventually had him bring food with him. With the help of his lovely wife Abey, he's really been able to stick with prepping food and eating much healthier during the day.

How Did Were These Results Achieved?
Alex and I took a non macro approach. We worked on cutting out refined sugars, refined carbohydrates, and all calorie drinks. We replaced them with balanced (protein, carb, fat) meals, vegetable goals, and hydration goals. Alex checked in with me almost every day with pictures of his food. We'd go through what we liked and didn't like about the meal and kept making tweaks along the way. Slowly but surely Alex saw his body changing, performance improving, and energy through the roof.
He said quite a few times, " I'll never go back to eating like I did before, I feel so much better now".
Challenges Along the Way
Setting realistic goals around alcohol proved to be a challenge at first. I wanted to set appropriate expectations if he did want to drink still. The best way we found was setting a beer limit per week. He saved those for date nights with his wife and then the more they started prepping, the less they went out (which meant less beer!). This was a SMOOTH transition compared to others. Now Alex will have 1 beer or so a week and instead drinks like of seltzer waters.
Other Details
The biggest piece that helped his success was being able to coach him the way that worked best for his lifestyle. We didn't try macro tracking right away because he doesn't love being on his phone all day and he really can't with his job. IT was about learning the basics of how to eat to fuel his body. Taking the route of snapping pictures and adjusting his food quality/quantity through that worked much better for him. This helped Alex see progress sooner which kept him motivated. Also, when we set realistic simple attainable goals, he was happy and driven to achieve them. The alcohol goal was a good example. Had I asked him to remove it week 1, we may not have gotten as far as we have already.
