THE M2 CERTIFICATION SERIES
As coaches and fitness enthusiasts, we know you love to share what you've learned with others, and there's no better feeling than to help someone change their life to become a happier, healthier human...
...and THAT is why we created The M2 Certification Series.
We want people like you to learn what we believe are the core themes of total health from a nutritional standpoint.
The Certification Series breaks these key domains into four distinct courses, so you are able to gain a thorough understanding of each area of your health.
While the sum of all four courses is intended to provide an all-encompassing education, we have also designed the courses to provide incredible value, independently.
Whether you complete one certification or all four, you will leave a better, more well-rounded coach and health enthusiast.
In each course, you will be provided with hours of video lectures from M2 Founder, Mike Molloy Ph.D, and your questions are answered through an exclusive live group-chat.
Combined, these resources provide an immersive, interactive experience unlike any other in the nutrition coaching industry.
Completion of all 4 courses will make you a M2 Performance Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach.
M2 is a leader in the nutrition world, especially for active individuals. A certification from our program indicates that you are a coach that truly understands how nutrition and lifestyle influence a person’s health, fitness, and happiness.

Understanding Metabolism
It is vital for you to fully understand how your metabolism works, what your body does when you eat a meal, and how it mobilizes energy stores when you work out.
There is so much misinformation floating around the fitness world when it comes to how our metabolism works. Enrolling in our Understanding Metabolism course will arm you with approaches based upon science, not "broscience." This is the key to anyone trying to help themselves or others achieve a goal.
In this course, we examine the following:
- How to maximize muscle mass generation through your diet and lifestyle
- How to optimize your metabolism through diet, exercise, and lifestyle
- How your body digests, stores, and mobilizes each macronutrient

- Why micronutrients are critical for an optimal metabolism
- How the body responds to various forms of exercise

Practical Nutrition Coaching
Knowing what to do is the easy part, getting people to actually do it is much more difficult. You can have all the nutritional knowledge in the world, but if you can't apply it with your clients in real-world settings, it is essentially useless. In this course, we will teach you how to create behavior change in individuals.
Additionally, we will provide business strategies that will allow you to efficiently build a client-base and create an actual living from your coaching practice.
In this course, we examine the following:
- How to actually generate a set of macros
- Interpreting client bio-feedback
- How to approach lack of compliance
- Breaking old habits
- Dealing with binge eating
- Client communication strategies

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be a nutrition coach to sign up?
No! Anyone looking for a clear understanding of the connection between their nutrition and health, performance and aesthetics would benefit from these courses.
Are there any prerequisites required?
A high school level of biology is all that is suggested, but there are no prerequisites. Additionally, with full access to the instructor through the chat group, any questions or clarifications can be easily addressed.
What is the format of the certification?
Each certification is a series of recorded lectures, run by Mike Molloy PhD, founder of M2 Performance Nutrition. One to two lectures will be released each week. You can watch the lecture whenever you’d like, on your own schedule.
In each of the lectures, Mike will walk you through a series of slides pertaining to the specific topic of the week. After watching the lectures, you will be able to ask questions in a private chat group. Only participants from your specific class will be able to access this chat. Mike will be responding to questions in the chat each business day.
Additionally, Mike will be hosting two LIVE video chats with the class participants throughout the class (after lectures 4 and 7). These chats will be an opportunity to answer more complex questions that you may have.
If I have a question, how do I ask?
There are two ways to ask questions, either in the Slack chat group or in advance of the LIVE video chats. Mike will be the one to answer any and all questions.
Will there be a test?
If you wish to receive the M2 Certification for completing the course, you will be required to pass a short test. This test will involve questions from the previous 7 videos, and is open book. You must score better than 75% on this test to pass the certification.
If you are just looking to take this Certification to learn, then you do NOT need to take the final test.
Will this make me a better nutrition coach?
Yes! We strongly believe that the more you understand about how the human body works, the better you can coach others on how to improve their health, performance and/or aesthetics. While much of the course focuses on basic science, this understanding lays the groundwork for you to make EDUCATED recommendations with your clients.
Additionally, we provide CLEAR recommendations around what supplements are scientifically supported for various goals.
What does this course certify me as?
M2 is a leader in the nutrition world, especially for active individuals. A certification from our program indicates that you are a coach that truly understands how nutrition and lifestyle influence a person’s health, fitness, and happiness. Additionally, as M2 is known for evidence based nutritional practices, it tells the world that you use science to support your decisions, not “bro science.”
Are you qualified to teach this class?
Mike has a PhD in Molecular Biology and Cellular Biology, with an emphasis in Immunology from Dartmouth Medical School.
